Two Rhoades students were selected as members of the top 300 MASTERS in the 2017 Broadcom MASTERS®. Current 8th grader Aidan Byrnes (pictured) and recent graduate Alexandra Orczyk’s middle school science and engineering projects are among the top 300 in the United States from over 6,000 nominees. They qualified for this honor by competing at the California State Science Fair last spring.
Aidan’s project was titled “Avian Dangers: Developing Devices for the Prevention of Bird Strike.” Alexandra’s project was titled “Comparing Changes in Local Sea Star Populations.”
Only 5% of science fair projects nationwide are selected for this opportunity. The next step in the Broadcom MASTERS takes place later this month when 30 finalists will be selected from the top 300 MASTERS.
Congratulations to Aidan and Alexandra on this outstanding achievement!
