The Girl Rising Club hosted a bazaar on Friday, March 16 that raised $1,400. The money will help provide for housing, tuition, books, uniforms and health care for two girls through She’s the First.
Girl Rising is a Middle School club at The Rhoades School whose mission is to change the image the world has of girls to a stronger, better one, more reflective of gender. They examine and create opportunities that empower women and role models for change. As a club, they seek to understand through research, guest speakers, and attending events in San Diego. They advocate and fundraise within the Rhoades community using social media, speaking to classmates, and holding community events, such as the Girl Rising Bazaar.
