In Fall 2020, Rhoades middle school students participated in the AMC 8 Mathematics Competition. The AMC 8 is a national mathematics competition designed to promote excitement, enthusiasm and positive attitudes towards mathematics and to stimulate interest in continuing the study of mathematics beyond the basics covered in the classroom. This year almost 60,000 students from over 1400 schools participated in the AMC 8.
The high scorers at The Rhoades School include the following:
6th Grade
Gold winners: Alex Kefalopoulos and Sebastian Guido
Silver winner: Addison Stahl
Bronze winners: Summer Grant, Judah Presley, Lily Long, and Rylan Parady
*Alex and Sebastian also earned the Certificate of Achievement as high-scoring students in grades 6 and below.
7th Grade
Gold winner: Charlie Ahn
Silver winner: Oona Norvell
Bronze winner: Gabriel Avanesian
8th Grade
Gold winner: Koe Goodsell
Silver winner: Tejas Ravi
Bronze winners: Chayce Marshall and Elias Samady
*Koe was also named to the Honor Roll of Distinction for scoring in the top 1% of all participating students.
