The Rhoades School, an independent school in San Diego, recently raised $9,430,95 for Rady Children’s Hospital. The fundraising event, named ” Bake Sale for Rady Children’s Hospital,” was held on March 28, 2023 and resulted in delicious baked goods donated by the Rhoades families.
The event was organized by the second grade teacher, Mrs. Garcia and Mackenzie Foote. So much love and time was given to create the Miracle Makers Page, manage the sign-up genius for baked goods drop off, the schedule for the sale of the cookies and cupcakes, and so much more. Every student played a part in making this such a success by either making posters, speaking at daily dialogue, visiting classrooms to spread the news, and/or taking part i n distributing baked goods at the tables on the bake sale day.
The money raised from the event will go directly to Rady Children’s Hospital, a nonprofit pediatric hospital in San Diego. The hospital provides world-class care to children from all over Southern California and beyond, regardless of their family’s ability to pay.
The Rhoades School has a long history of community engagement and service. The school’s mission statement emphasizes the importance of developing “compassionate and responsible individuals who make a difference in the world.” The fundraising event for Rady Children’s Hospital is just one example of the school’s commitment to this mission. The Rhoades School’s commitment to community service is an important part of the school’s culture. By encouraging students to take an active role in their community, the school is helping to instill values of compassion, responsibility, and citizenship that will last a lifetime.
Overall, the Rhoades to Rady fundraising event was a huge success. The school’s students, parents, and staff came together to support a worthy cause, and the event raised nearly $10,000 for a nonprofit organization that does important work in our community. The event is a testament to the Rhoades School’s commitment to community service and its mission of developing compassionate and responsible individuals who make a difference in the world.
