We are delighted to announce that Wendy Schramm, a middle school teacher at The Rhoades School, was featured in the Los Angeles Times this summer. Her opinion piece delves into the fascinating presence of hawks in her very own backyard and the profound impact their visits have on her as she readies herself to step back into the classroom each year.
A recent social media posting spotlighted Mrs. Schramm with the post reading:
“Students in Mrs. Schramm’s class find inspiration both inside the classroom and in the “outdoor classroom.” As a master gardener and serious film enthusiast, she infuses her passions into the classroom and inspires students with rich, project-based learning. Her students’ achievements in the annual Read, Imagine, Create projects, student-created films, and Poe and Haiku poetry units show how she ignites their love of learning in her classes with her thoughtfully crafted and executed planning. Her students can be found independently writing a poem under a favorite tree or sitting at a picnic table discussing whether or not Alexander was really “great.”
We are thrilled Ms. Schramm is part of our school community and we look forward to the 2023-2024 school year with her teaching the middle school students.
