Ms. Evelyn Lafferty - Lower School Physical Education K-3 Specialist and Athletic Director
A little about me…
I was born on Long Island many moons ago. I received my undergraduate degree from West Chester State College, which is located in West Chester, PA., in Health and Physical Education with a minor in Driver Education. My Master’s degree in Elementary Education is from Widener University which is a located in Pennsylvania as well.
Throughout my career as a teacher, I’ve always worked in private schools. From Sanford School in Hockessin, DE, to The Montessori School in Lexington, MA, to The Rhoades School, I have totally enjoyed my time as a teacher.
I loved my elementary P.E. teacher but I first dreamed of becoming a veternarian. Then something changed in 7th grade and PE became the focus. So as the saying goes…”the rest is history.”
In my free time, I am a competitive ballroom dancer. My ballroom dance career started right out of college and I’ve represented the United States in more than 15 world competitions. It is a passion of mine so whether it be competing or social, dancing will be something I participate in for the rest of my life.
